School District Strategic Planning

by Beverly Slough

Our district is beginning a new strategic planning process this Tuesday, January 5th. Our current plan has served our students well for ten years, but it is time to reassess and realign our goals with current conditions. On Tuesday morning, the School Board will be briefed on the process, and in the evening at 6:00 pm, our consultant will hold a public meeting in the School Board Auditorium to share how stakeholders can become part of the team to help create the future vision of the school district. There will be a core planning team and several action teams, allowing many members of our community to be part of the process.

To gain public input, we will hold a series of World Cafes. These informal discussions will allow participants to discuss relevant questions with three others, then rotate to another group to discuss another topic. The data gathered from the World Cafes will help the planning teams formulate the future direction of our district.
